Restore a pert and shapely silhouette

A breast lift, also known as a mastopexy, is a procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts. As a woman ages, skin loses some elasticity which can cause the breasts to lose their natural shape and firmness. This procedure is designed to elevate the breasts and give them a more youthful appearance. A breast lift may also be completed in conjunction with breast augmentation surgery (breast implants). Childbirth, age and also significant weight loss can all take their toll on women’s bodies – in particular with breasts. For many women, breast uplift surgery can offer a way to help restore a more youthful outline. We most often hear women who would like to wear more of the clothes they used to, or simply feel like they want their own body back. At your consultation, we’ll talk to you about your frame, height and other features that will affect your choices. At the end of the day, it’s about what is right for you.

breasts, or breast hypertrophy, may have developed over time as a result of pregnancy or weight gain. There may also be a low-lying position of the breasts with droop or sag, as well as a nipple areola enlargement. Diet and exercise can have significant impact on breast size for some, however weight loss cannot correct droop or positioning. For many, breast reduction is an ideal way to get the shape they want. At your consultation we talk you through the different methods of mastopexy and advise you as to what is best for you.

About this treatment

01.

Background to the procedure

The operation involves the surgeon removing a small section of excess skin from each breast to lift the bustline, resulting in a much more youthful appearance.

The surgery works by making an incision on each breast, the skin is then lifted and stitched in its new position and excess skin removed. If there is a lack of natural breast tissue and you are looking for a fuller effect, your surgeon may recommend that you combine the procedure with breast augmentation, which involves inserting breast implants to add fullness to the breasts.

02.

What to expect at my consultation

All consultations are private one-on-one sessions with Dr. Salman that normally last 30-40 minutes. During that time, the patient and surgeon will discuss their expectations for the results of the breast lift, including size and shape. The surgeon will also investigate the medical history of the breast lift surgery candidate, to ensure that the procedure is appropriate for the individual.

As part of the process, Dr. Salman will give you the opportunity to examine photographs of patients, so that you can see for yourself what to expect from breast lift surgery. He will discuss with you the shape of breasts that you desire, the possible surgical techniques to get your desired effect, and how your frame, height and other features affect your choices. It is important that you and your doctor agree on the aesthetics and mechanics of your surgery in order to obtain the results that you want.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions About Liposuction

Your surgeon will tell you which form of breast surgery is most suitable for you and will help you understand the risks. Only you can decide whether the operation is right for you. Your surgeon will help you achieve your aim. Although no surgeon can give a guarantee, cosmetic surgery should not be scheduled unless there is a good chance you will be pleased with the result. The final decision remains one that only you can make. The exact method of surgery is determined by the amount of loose skin you have in the breast.

Various methods may cause different scars. All surgery requires a scar and all scars take time to soften and fade. You will not see the final appearance of your scar until up to a year after surgery. The scar is usually red and raised for the first month or two after your operation.

When too much volume has been lost to achieve a full breast shape an implant will be necessary. In some cases, a breast augmentation is performed at the same time to increase the overall size of the bust.

Yes, breastfeeding after the procedure should not be a problem.
