Laser Resurfacing
Rejuvenate aged and sun damaged skin for a fresh and youthful look
About this treatment
Background to the procedure
Laser skin resurfacing is an effective treatment for aged and sun damaged skin through brief pulses of high energy light which promotes the growth of new skin.
What would I expect at the consultation?
All consultations are private one-on-one sessions that normally last 15-20 minutes. Your Doctor will talk you through the procedure, any concerns you may have and your expectations of the results.
What is involved with Laser Resurfacing?
The procedure uses a laser to send out brief pulses of high-energy light deep into the layers of your skin. This light energy is absorbed by water and substances in the skin called chromophores, then chromophores, then changed into heat energy, and the heat then destroys thin sections of skin, layer by layer. As the wounded area heals, new skin grows to replace the damaged skin giving you a more even complexion.
What is the recovery after Laser Resurfacing?
The new erbium: YAG laser has a healing time measured in days, not weeks or months, as in the case of the old CO2, and there is little chance of pigmentation loss. Your Doctor will advise if there is anything you need to avoid following treatment such as make up, extensive sun or heat exposure.
What are the risks of complication?
As with all treatments, please consider planning social events around treatments. Any potential complications will be discussed during consultation and you will be given a copy in writing.
Aftercare
Patient care has always been at the forefront of everything we do, this is why we are a leading cosmetic surgery provider in Ireland. We believe that ‘aftercare’ is just as important a part of the entire cosmetic treatment procedure as the treatment itself. With Auralia, you can be rest assured that all your aftercare needs will be completely fulfilled, providing you the support you need for a fast and stress-free recovery.
