Pectoral Implants
Add muscular definition and improve upper body physique
About this treatment
Background to the procedure
An incision made inside of the armpit will allow any signs of scarring to be easily hidden. After thorough examination and discussion, the surgeon will place the already chosen size and shaped implants under the pectoralis muscle. What will result is the appearance of a more defined chest, especially for underdeveloped chests. Since men will not want the same feeling as breast implants used on women, the pectoral implants have a firmer feeling, giving the illusion of being a built up muscle. Â
What would I expect at the consultation?
All consultations are private one-on-one sessions with Dr. Salman that normally last 30-40 minutes. During that time a full medical history is taken to confirm suitability for surgery. A thorough examination of the chest area is carried out and the doctor will discuss the procedure and the choices available to help you get the look you want. A wide variety of implants are available during the consultation and you will have the opportunity to choose your preferred size and shape.
During the consultation, the patient is in driving seat and any questions and concerns can be addressed to ensure the patient can be confident in making an informed choice. At this time, you can also view our state of the art facilities, and meet our friendly, qualified, and experienced staff.
What is involved with pectoral implant surgery
Male chest implants are soft, but solid silicone implants placed in between the pectoral muscles to add bulk, size, and definition to the chest region. Male chest implants are not the same as female breast implants – they cannot leak or deflate.
The incision is made on the inside of the armpit which will allow any signs of scarring to be easily hidden. After thorough examination and discussion, the surgeon will place the already chosen size and shaped implants under the pectoralis muscle. The muscles hold the implants in place, preventing them from shifting or moving as well as creating a natural looking, strong appearance.
What is the recovery after pectoral implant surgery?
The pectoral implants will take about a week to heal before normal activity can be resumed. Full activity will be restricted depending on individual factors and healing progression, though most patients can get back to more rigorous activity by six weeks. Pectoral implants differ greatly from women’s breast implants because they are not filled. The risks of side effects following pectoral implants are far lesser when compared to breast implants as a result.
What are the risks of complication?
All surgery, including cosmetic surgery, carries risks. Any potential complications will be discussed during consultation and you will be given a copy in writing.

FAQs
How soon can I get back to work?
It depends greatly on the specific procedure, but on average most patients are back to work within 3 to 7 days.
Will there be scars?
Yes, but they probably won’t be noticeable. Your surgeon will make every effort to keep incisions as minimal as possible and try to hide them in the natural lines and creases of your skin. The scars will fade over time and become barely noticeable.
What are pectoral implants made of?
Pectoral implants are made of solid silicone, a flexible and inert substance that has been used in medicine for decades. Because the implants are solid, they cannot leak or rupture.
I have an uneven chest. Can I get just one pectoral implant?
Pectoral implants can be used to correct a deformity of the chest. Some men may need only one implant to correct an asymmetrical chest, while others might benefit from having two implants of different shapes or sizes.
How do I prepare for the surgery?
2 weeks pre-operatively
Stop taking any aspirin or aspirin containing products as these may increase the risk of bleeding. Also any non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as Brufen or Volterol such should be stopped, as should any Vitamin E tablets or multi vitamins containing vitamin E.
1 week pre-operatively
It is advisable to take 1 gm vitamin C twice a day to improve wound healing.
Night before surgery
Avoid using any lotions or shaving cream on your chest, arms, etc. since it interferes with the procedure and recovery.
The day of surgery
Wear a loose button-up shirt instead of a t-shirt or anything that needs to slip on over your head
