Buttock implants create fullness and shape
The after-care program was amazing. I got regular calls and I could go for as many appointments as I wanted. I would 100% recommend Auralia. :-)
I was treated with the utmost care. Every member of staff from the reception to the nurses were so lovely and caring. Dr Salman was so calming and informative. There was no pressure to commit at the consultation.
Treatment was great. Was kept very comfortable and had one to one aftercare. Nurses, doctors and staff are all very lovely, pleasant, knowledgeable people.
I went for the consultation and was very impressed. I wanted to book right away but I was told to go home and think about it first, there was no hard sale. I liked that!
About this treatment
Gluteus or Butt Augmentation
Background to the procedure at Auralia
Having bum implants, properly known as gluteal augmentation, is a procedure that has been carried out for over 25 years. Far more popular than many people would realise! Highly popular in global hotspots like Miami and Brazil, Auralia surgeons have worked with the best around the world, and bring the latest and safest techniques to Ireland.
Many surgeons recommended placing the implant over the muscle but this can lead to hardening, or an unnatural shape. The most advanced method, known as the inter-muscular technique places the implant inside the muscle creating an ultra natural result both to the eye and to the touch.
Our surgeons use anatomical shaped implants rather than round ones allowing him to add volume in the appropriate areas and to sculpt the buttocks into a natural looking, aesthetically pleasing shape.
What to expect at my Auralia consultation?
All consultations are private one-on-one sessions with Dr. Salman that normally last 30-40 minutes. During that time a full medical history is taken to confirm suitability for surgery. During the consultation he will discuss the procedure and the choices available to help you get the look you want.
During the consultation, the patient is in driving seat and any questions and concerns can be addressed to ensure the patient can be confident in making an informed choice. At this time, you can also view our state of the art facilities, and meet our friendly, qualified, and experienced staff.
What is involved with buttock implant surgery?
Buttock implant surgery is performed under general anesthesia. A single implant is placed into each buttock area through an incision overlying the tailbone. Through the incision the buttock muscle is lifted up and a pocket is made just large enough for the implant to be placed. This is then repeated on the other side before both sides are carefully examined in order to assure that the results look natural and symmetric. This is an overnight procedure and the patient will be unable to sit or lie on the area for the first 24 hours post operation.
What is the recovery after buttock implant surgery?
The patient will overnight at the clinic and a friend should drive them home from the hospital. The patient will be unable to sit or lie down on the area for the first 24 hours after the operation.
Following your buttock implant there will be some bruising, swelling and discomfort. The discomfort will be controlled by the pain medication. Most patients take 2 weeks off from work, but if they have a physically strenuous job it may require a longer period of time.

How do I prepare for buttock implant surgery?
2 weeks pre-operatively
Stop taking any aspirin or aspirin containing products as these may increase the risk of bleeding. Also any non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as Brufen or Volterol such should be stopped, as should any Vitamin E tablets or multi vitamins containing vitamin E.
1 week pre-operatively
It is advisable to take 1 gm vitamin C twice a day to improve wound healing.
Night before surgery
If your surgery is planned for the morning it is wise to have a shower the night before using a medicated shower gel/body scrub (e.g. hibiscrub or hydrex) and wash ones hair. Nail polish should be removed prior to surgery for the anaesthetic equipment requirement.
The day of surgery
Dress in loose, comfortable clothing – soft, elasticated tracksuit bottoms are ideal.
What are the potential complications after surgery?
All surgery, including cosmetic surgery, carries risks. Any potential complications will be discussed during consultation and you will be given a copy in writing.
