Anti-wrinkle injections are an effective way to block the stimulation of excessive sweat
I had such a quick response to my enquiry, the staff were very helpful and I had a date booked for me within minutes. I had a consultation with Dr. Salman who was very pleasant and talked me through the whole procedure in detail. I can't tell you how pleased I am with the results and I would definitely recommend this clinic to others!
I would recommend this to a friend. It was good value and the procedure was completed to great satisfaction.
About this treatment
Background to the treatment of hyperhidrosis
The brain sends signals to the sweat glands in the skin, through nerve endings. The neurotransmitter acetylcholine behaves like a trigger, to get the sweat glands to start working. These nerve endings are usually responding to stressors, including the raised body temperature from exercise, or from the emotional stresses that people might have during their day.
Hyperhidrosis is when the nervous system overstimulates the glands that are responsible for making sweat. The common toxin that is popular for the treatment of lines and wrinkles, that ‘freeze’ the muscles, were discovered to also prevent the same regions from producing sweat, and so the product was successfully tested and approved for the treatment of hyperhidrosis.
How long does the treatment for excessive sweating last?
Typically injections for axillary hyperhidrosis occur every 6 to 8 months. The injections are given directly into the underarm area. Although some 15-20 injections are typically given in each treatment, with proper anaesthesia the treatment is virtually painless.
Patient care has always been at the forefront of everything we do. We believe that ‘aftercare’ is just as important a part of the entire cosmetic treatment procedure as the treatment itself. With Auralia, you can be rest assured that all your aftercare needs will be completely fulfilled, providing you the support you need for a fast and stress-free recovery.
Our registered, professional and highly trained medical team are accessible at all times to advise you on your individual needs, to explain exactly what the procedure entails and to assist you with any concerns you may have following your treatment.
Is the procedure painful?
Injections may cause some discomfort during and after the injection. Your Doctor will use a fine needle to reduce injection discomfort.
How long will it take to start working?
Anti-wrinkle injections take a few days to start working, and patients will begin to notice a small improvement after a day or two, with the full effect within 3 – 7 days.
Can I go back to work?
Yes, you can go back to work after the procedure, but your doctor will probably suggest that you avoid exercise or overstimulation for a day or two.
Can I put on makeup?
Although many patients apply makeup following the procedure, you should discuss this with your Doctor.
Will I experience bruising or swelling?
Some patients can experience bruising or bleeding following treatment. Your Doctor will advise on a number of steps to follow to minimise this.
