Skin Peels

Anti-aging chemical peels for radiant youthful looking skin

A chemical peel is a cosmetic procedure that helps to restore youthful, radiant skin through the removal of dead skin cells at the surface. At Auralia, we offer a range of peels, including TCA and glycolic peels. Glycolic peels are light chemical peels that that can greatly improve the appearance of the skin by eliminating the damaged outer layers. TCA chemical peels are stronger and have a slightly longer recovery time depending on the concentrations used. These peels are extremely effective at the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, uneven skin pigmentation, acne scars, and other skin imperfections of the face, hands, and neck. Chemical peels have been used for decades to revitalise and resurface the skin, with a variety of skin peel treatments available. At your consultation we can examine your skin and discuss which treatments are right for you.

I had such a quick response to my enquiry, the staff were very helpful and I had a date booked for me within minutes. I had a consultation with Dr. Salman who was very pleasant and talked me through the whole procedure in detail. I can't tell you how pleased I am with the results and I would definitely recommend this clinic to others!

About this treatment

Glycolic peel & how it works

A glycolic peel is a light chemical peel that uses a mild alphahydroxy acid (AHA) derived from sugar cane to produce a light peel of the outermost damaged layers of the skin.

When applied to the skin, it helps to remove the ‘glue’ that holds the older, rougher and dryer skin on the surface. Once this top layer of dead skin is removed, the fresh, new layer is visible and the treatment also actively promotes the development of new cell growth.

Many experts believe that the glycolic AHA is the most promising for skin rejuvenation because it has the smallest molecular size. A glycolic peel is an excellent non-surgical minimally invasive procedure that can treat fine facial wrinkles, acne, uneven pigment, and skin dryness.

Benefits of glycolic peel

A glycolic peel in an excellent alternative to deeper peels for those patients who do not wish to go through the discomfort and recovery period required of the latter. A glycolic peel can be done without an anesthetic. This technique can provide dramatic changes with virtually no skin redness or other unwanted after effects. A patient will be able to resume normal activities after a glycolic peel almost immediately. Time off from work and other responsibilities is not required.

How many glycolic peel treatments will I need?

We recommend a series of 6 treatments fortnightly for optimal results.

TCA peel and how it works

TCA chemical peels are formulated using trichloroacetic acid that provides a medium depth skin peeling. TCA chemical peels can smooth superficial wrinkles, correct pigment disparities, and improve the appearance of other skin imperfections on the face, neck and other areas of the body.

It can be used to treat acne, acne scarring, sun spots, sun damage, blotchy skin, age spots, lines and wrinkles and the signs of ageing that occur on the face, hands, neck, décolleté, scalp and body. At a medium depth peel, it is a stronger peel than the glycolic peels but without the downtime of the stronger chemical peels or laser resurfacing.

Benefits of TCA peel

One of the many notable benefits of TCA skin peels are their ability to adjust their depth of penetration to the problem being treated. A 10% solution is great for minor surface problems on young skin. For more substantial problems, a higher concentration strength will be necessary.

While a medium peel TCA peels will have much less discomfort and recovery period than deeper peels. It can be done without an anesthetic, and no ‘down time’ is needed. A mild sunburn effect is often noticed after the procedure and the treated area may be pink or slightly red for a few hours. A gentle peel is usually noticed after 3 days.

How many TCA peel treatments will I need?

More than one TCA peel may be needed to achieve the desired result. This will be decided during your free consultation with a treatment doctor.

Patient care has always been at the forefront of everything we do. We believe that ‘aftercare’ is just as important a part of the entire cosmetic treatment procedure as the treatment itself.
